"You can run, You can run, You can run" and on Sunday, January 29, over 10,000 runners ran through the Disneyland® Resort. With the hours of training behind them, the runners set off on their Fairy Tale journey with the ultimate prize in sight — the Inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon medal.
Throughout their quest, the runners were greeted by beloved Disney characters, inspirational music and scenes from classic Disney entertainment moments. At the end of the 13.1 mile journey, the runners were congratulated by cheering fans and their new Tinker Bell medal.
Kellie Nickerson of Albuquerque, NM, became the champion of the Inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon by completing her journey in 1:27:52. Sharon Wilkerson of Winnetka, CA, and Stacy Schafer of Carlsbad, CA, soon followed to round out the top 3 Half Marathon finishers.
With a little faith, trust and pixie dust the Inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon provided a magical day for all the runners. From Kellie Nickerson to the final finishers, each runner earned their "wings". Congratulations to all the finishers!
